Return Problem Cause Solution

Peeling paint on exterior surfaces

Discover the potential causes and view the solutions
• The surface was not primed
• Surface crystallization ("glazing") due to the application of undiluted or insufficiently diluted primer
• Painting the plaster before 30 days have elapsed since its application, resulting in excessive alkali secretion
• Dust, formwork oils, or friable parts were not removed from the surface

Remove the peeling areas using sandpaper or a putty knife. Fill/skim coat if necessary using the resin-modified cementitious putty GRANULAR or GRANULAR ULTRA (depending on the imperfections and how smooth of a finish is desired).

Prime with SOLVENT-BASED PRIMER (The SOLVENT-BASED PRIMER is thinned with DUROSTICK’s THINNER 101. Strictly follow the dilution and usage instructions stated in the product’s TDS) or with the micromolecular stabilizer AQUAFIX.

Afterward, apply two coats of the acrylic paint 10 YEARS WARRANTY, the elastomeric waterproofing paint D-80 HYDROSTOP ELASTIC, or the self-cleaning silicone paint WALL PRO NANO PAINT.

Alternatively, apply the hybrid acrylic-polyurethane paint DUROPAINT-PU, which provides ten times higher washing resistance compared to standard acrylic paints.

Applying two coats of the thermo-ceramic energy-saving paint THERMOELASTIC COLOUR provides additional thermal protection, improving the indoor microclimate winter and summer.
