Return Problem Cause Solution

Black spots and mold on low areas of exterior masonry

Discover the potential causes and view the solutions
• Elevated moisture levels
• Highly absorbent rough surfaces (relief, Mykonian style, scratch-textured/grafiato), which, when combined with moisture, create mold and black spots
• Surfaces unexposed to sunlight and located adjacent to gardens

Before proceeding with any repair, we must investigate why moisture is accumulating and address the root cause.
Next, clean the surface using the special mold cleaning liquid D-95 CLEANER. Provided the plaster has not deteriorated, prime with SOLVENT-BASED PRIMER (The SOLVENT-BASED PRIMER is thinned with DUROSTICK’s THINNER 101. Strictly follow the dilution and usage instructions stated in the product’s TDS) or with the micromolecular stabilizer AQUAFIX.

Paint the surface using one of the paints mentioned in the previous solution.
