For floors: Remove the detached stones, as well as the mortar if it is cracked. Waterproof with 2 to 3 crisscross coats of D-1 or D-1 FLEX.
For bonding, choose DUROSTICK D-5 or the reinforced building mortar D-31. Follow with grouting using the natural stone grout DUROSTICK D-4 or the cementitious COARSE-GRAINED TILE AND STONE GROUT.
For walls: Carefully remove the detached stones and bond them using the acrylic adhesive for decorative bricks and stones DUROSTICK D-5 or the reinforced building mortar D-31. Grout with DUROSTICK D-5 or the natural stone grout DUROSTICK D-4.
Final protection for stone surfaces is achieved using the nanomolecular water repellent NANO PROOF CERAMIC DS-270, the water-based 2-component polyurethane matte varnish DECOFIN AQUA PU, the solvent-based matte varnish for natural stones VISTA, or the solvent-based 2-component polyurethane matte varnish DECOFIN POLYURETHANE.
On exterior paved floors adjacent to gardens, a preventative impregnation with the water repellent RENOLIT is recommended prior to coating, in order to protect the stone and the varnish from rising damp, ensuring long-term protection for the lining.
